SOUTH VALLEY TO MACHU PICCHU
In this tour we are going to know about the perfection of the systems of Inca irrigation, the pre -Inca constructions of Pikillacta and the influence of the spanish religion, and the next day, we will enjoy Machu Picchu inca´s citadel.
Route day by day:
DAY 1. SOUTH VALLEY TOUR TIPON-PIKILLACTA AND ANDAHUAYLILLAS – AGUAS CALIENTES
PIKILLAQTA: is now considered as one of the best-known and best-preserved pre incas cities that actually exist in the Peru belonged to the Wari culture, continuing our tour, we will go to Andahuaylillas.
ANDAHUAYLILLAS: San Pedro church is the spotlight in this villege, also known as Chapel of America, dating back to the 16th century. Stand out its wonderful wall paintings, works by renowned painters of the era which include Diego Quispe Tito. The pieces are part of the most important baroque art of the Peru.
From here we will go to the city of Cusco to continue towards the Sacred Valley, reaching the Ollantaytambo train station to go to Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu town.
Day 2: Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu Explore and return to Cuzco
This day we will wake up very early and after breakfast we will board the first bus 5:30 AM, and have a 30 minute trip arriving to the Machu Picchu citadel at 6:00 AM to appreciate the majestic sunrise. We are going to have a guiding tour of 2 hours to know the most important places of Machu Picchu, those who wish may go up to Wayna Picchu * (enter tickets are not included – reservations are required ).
After the tour you will have free time of around 04 hours to visit Machu Picchu on your own. You can go down to Aguas Calientes where you can visit the thermal baths (entrance ticket are not included), after lunch in a restaurant (not included) we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo station where the transfer of our company is going to pick you up from there in order to return to Cusco city at your hotel.
* Take an optional WaynaPicchu: hike up the steep peak called HuaynaPicchu, located inside the archaeological site of Machu Picchu. The road takes about 45 – 60 minutes and we will appreciate exclusive and unforgettable views of Machu Picchu from a fantastic perspective. Please note that if you want to take this optional excursion, you must contact us at least 1 month in advance to reserve your ticket.
