South Valley and Sacred Valley and train to Machu Picchu 3D / 2N
On this trip we are going to know mysterious sites of the South Valley and the Sacred Valley of the Incas to finish completely delighted with the wonder of the world and cultural heritage of humanity: Machu Picchu.
We are going to visit the South Valley towards the archaeological complex of Tipon, Pikillacta and the beautiful church of San Pedro or Sistine Chapel of America, the next day we will begin our trip very early to the Sacred Valley of the Incas for the archeological centers of Pisac and Ollantaytambo, then we go to Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu town where we spend the night to wake up very early the next day in order to reach the magical Citadel and experience the sunrise in the wonder of the world : Machu Picchu.
Itinerary day by day
DAY 1. SOUTH VALLEY TOUR TIPON-PIKILLACTA AND ANDAHUAYLILLAS
We leave Cusco toward Tipon village, this archaeological site is one of the greatest works of hydraulic irrigation terraces from here we continue to Pikillacta.
PIKILLAQTA: is now considered as one of the best-known and best-preserved pre incas cities that actually exist in the Peru belonged to the Wari culture, continuing our tour, we will go to Andahuaylillas.
ANDAHUAYLILLAS: San Pedro church is the spotlight in this villege, also known as Chapel of America, dating back to the 16th century. Stand out its wonderful wall paintings, works by renowned painters of the era which include Diego Quispe Tito. The pieces are part of the most important baroque art of the Peru. This place we will return to the city of Cusco.
DAY 2. CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY – AGUAS CALIENTES
This day we visit the “Sacred Valley of the incas” , starting the tour at 9:00 in the morning, we pick up you from your hotel toward the archaeological areas.
Pisac, we will visit the typical market where you can see the famous fair of handicrafts and the archaeological group of Pisac with their amazing terraces on the mountain.
Urubamba is a village where we will have a buffet lunch consisting of Andean native products of the place.
Ollantaytambo is a monumental architectural complex of the ancient Inca´s Empire, called ‘Fortress’, due to its colossal walls, located strategically in order to dominate the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Ending the tour we will go to Ollantaytambo’s train station, to board the train to Aguas Calientes town, where company staff is going pick you up and take you to your hotel. The tour guide is going to give you a briefing about the tour the next day.
DAY 3. AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
This day we will wake up very early and after breakfast we will board the first bus 5:30 AM, and have a 30 minute trip arriving to the Machu Picchu citadel at 6:00 AM to appreciate the majestic sunrise. We are going to have a guiding tour of 2 hours to know the most important places of Machu Picchu, those who wish may go up to Wayna Picchu * (enter tickets are not included – reservations are required ).
After the tour you will have free time of around 04 hours to visit Machu Picchu on your own. You can go down to Aguas Calientes where you can visit the thermal baths (entrance ticket are not included), after lunch in a restaurant (not included) we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo station where the transfer of our company is going to pick you up from there in order to return to Cusco city at your hotel.
* Take an optional Wayna Picchu: hike up the steep peak called Huayna Picchu, located inside the archaeological site of Machu Picchu. The road takes about 45 – 60 minutes and we will appreciate exclusive and unforgettable views of Machu Picchu from a fantastic perspective. Please note that if you want to take this optional excursion, you must contact us at least 1 month in advance to reserve your ticket.
