Huchuy Qosqo Trek to Machu Picchu 2D / 1N
In this walk we are going to visit Huchuy Qosqo, an archaeological Center unique in its structure, and stunning views of the Valley sacred, then toward the wonder of the world: Machu Picchu.
DAY 1: HUCHUY QOSQO
We will pick you up from your hotel at 5:30 a.m. on our private transportation, we head toward the community of Taucca in the Chinchero village. The walk starts at 3600 meters above sea level. Walking 3 hours heading to Piuray pass located at 4100 meters above sea level .
In this place we will enjoy this beautiful panoramic view of the Urubamba mountain range and small lagoons. Huchuy Qosqo means “Small Cusco”. In this place the tour guide is going to give you a short speech about the history, after that we are going to enjoy our lunch. Then we follow 2 hour walking down a steep slope towards the Lamay village, our car is going to pick you up there to take us to ollantaytambo town where we are going to have a dinner, after that we take the train to Aguas Calientes town to spend the night.
Cusco – Chinchero (3600m) – Piuray pass (4.100 msl) – ruins of Huchuy Qosqo (3600m) – Lamay (2.900m)
Day 2: Departure from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu Explore and return to Cuzco
This day we will wake up very early and after breakfast we will board the first bus 5:30 AM, and have a 30 minute trip arriving to the Machu Picchu citadel at 6:00 AM to appreciate the majestic sunrise. We are going to have a guiding tour of 2 hours to know the most important places of Machu Picchu, those who wish may go up to WaynaPicchu * (enter tickets are not included – reservations are required ).
After the tour you will have free time of around 04 hours to visit Machu Picchu on your own. You can go down to Aguas Calientes where you can visit the thermal baths (entrance ticket are not included), after lunch in a restaurant (not included) we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo station where the transfer of our company is going to pick you up from there in order to return to Cusco city at your hotel.
* Take an optional WaynaPicchu: hike up the steep peak called HuaynaPicchu, located inside the archaeological site of Machu Picchu. The road takes about 45 – 60 minutes and we will appreciate exclusive and unforgettable views of Machu Picchu from a fantastic perspective. Please note that if you want to take this optional excursion, you must contact us at least 1 month in advance to reserve your ticket.
