We will enjoy an unforgettable adventure trip with a day of rafting on the Vilcanota river, we will enjoy this fantastic adventure by visiting the most important archaeological sites of the Empire of the Incas, before we arrive to Machu Picchu.

Overview:

We will begin our trip enjoying with the visit to the most representative places of the imperial city of Cusco and around it, for your acclimatization to our following travel days, on the second day the adrenaline sprout because of the adventure at the Vilcanota river and its Rapids then do a zip line, at the third day you have a trip through the Sacred Valley of the incas by visiting the archaeological sites of Pisac and Ollantaytambo fortress After finishing our tour we will go by train to Aguas Calientes where we are going to spend the night, in the fourth day you will enjoy the sunrise very early in the morning at the great inca city of Machu Picchu.

DAY 1. CITY TOUR IN CUSCO

After being picked up from your hotel we start the city tour at the Cathedral of the Cusco, then we will we go to Qoricancha museum, the most important religious center in the inca Empire. Start the journey heading out of Cusco downtown to visit the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuaman, Amphitheatre of Q q’enqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay, the bath of the Inca. After this fantastic experience we will return to the Cusco city to your hotel.

DAY 2. RAFTING AND ZIP LINE

You will pick up at your hotel between 8:30-9 a.m. starting we will go to Oropesa a small Andean village famous for its homemade bread where we will buy some bread. Continuing we arrive at the lodge in Chuquicahuana, our professional rafting guide will give you a safety talk and provide you with all the equipment suitable for rafting. We will pass by fast II, III and IV, after exciting hours of adventure in the Vilcanota river, you reach the lodge where we will take a shower and enjoy a delicious lunch to continue our adventure down 2-Zip line fun. Relax on the return trip to Cusco after an active day. Stop it at your hotel or the city centre.

DAY 3. CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY – AGUAS CALIENTES

This day we visit the “Sacred Valley of the incas” , starting the tour at 9:00  in the morning, we pick up you from your hotel toward the archaeological areas.

Pisac, we will visit the typical market where you can see the famous fair of handicrafts and the archaeological group of Pisac with their amazing terraces on the mountain.

Urubamba is a village where we will have a buffet lunch consisting of Andean native products of the place.

Ollantaytambo is a monumental architectural complex of the ancient Inca´s Empire, called ‘Fortress’, due to its colossal walls, located strategically in order to dominate the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Ending the tour we will go to Ollantaytambo’s train station, to board the train to Aguas Calientes town, where company staff is going pick you up and take you to your  hotel. The tour guide is going to give you a briefing about the tour the next day.

DAY 4. AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

This day we will wake up very early and after breakfast we will board the first bus 5:30 AM, and have a 30 minute trip arriving to the Machu Picchu citadel at 6:00 AM to appreciate the majestic sunrise. We are going to have a guiding tour of 2 hours to know the most important places of Machu Picchu, those who wish may go up to Wayna Picchu * (enter tickets are not included – reservations are required ).

After the tour you will have free time of around 04 hours to visit Machu Picchu on your own. You can go down to Aguas Calientes where you can visit the thermal baths (entrance ticket are not included), after lunch in a restaurant (not included) we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo station where the transfer of our company is going to pick you up from there in order to return to Cusco city at your hotel.

* Take an optional Wayna Picchu: hike up the steep peak called Huayna Picchu, located inside the archaeological site of Machu Picchu. The road takes about 45 – 60 minutes and we will appreciate exclusive and unforgettable views of Machu Picchu from a fantastic perspective. Please note that if you want to take this optional excursion, you must contact us at least 1 month in advance to reserve your ticket.
